UPCOMING NJ-NATP EDUCATION OFFERINGS


Just wanted to let you know about two upcoming educational opportunities from the New Jersey Chapter of NATP.

On Thursday, October 25, 2012, the chapter will offer a full-day (8 CPE credits) “hands-on workshop that will cover the basics of partnership taxation and how to complete a partnership return, including Schedules L, M-1 and M-2, track partners’ basis in the partnership and learn the impact of partnership distributions”.  The workshop will be “taught” by NJ NATP Chapter Certified Instructors Pramod Ahuja, EA and Marilyn H Ayers, CPA. 

The cost of $200 for members and $250 for non-members if your registration is postmarked before 10/22/12, and $250 for all if the registration is postmarked on/after 10/22/12 or at the door.

On Tuesday, November 13, 2012, the subject of a half-day (4 CPE credits) workshop is Schedule E Reporting, presented by NJ NATP Chapter Certified Instructors: Sherry Diamond, EA and Mario Tripaldi,

This course will identify the types of activities, income and expenses reported on Schedule E, including Rental and Royalty income. Analyzing a Partner’s, S-Corp Shareholder’s and Trust or Estate Beneficiary’s Schedule K-1 to enter the appropriate information on Schedule E. Rental loss limitations and vacation home rules will also be covered with a walk through of a comprehensive example.”

An “All-American Hot Breakfast Buffet” in included.

The cost is $90 for all if postmarked before 11/10/12, and $115 for all if postmarked on or after 11/10/12 or at the door.

NJ NATP FALL NEWSLETTER


I just wanted to let you know that the Fall 2012 issue of NJ TAXING TIMES, the newsletter of the NJ chapter of the National Association of Tax Professionals, is now available.
 
This issue includes items on practice management and charitable deductions.
 
While I no longer live in NJ, I will continue to contribute articles to the NJ newsletter.  As I was sidetracked by the move I do not have any items in this issue.
